Confused about how to help Irma, Harvey victims? Look no further. I have canvassed the internet to come up with a list of the most popular charities where you can make donations.

Texas (Hurricane Harvey)

  • Disaster Relief Fund through the Humane Society: Secure connection and they accept PayPal, all major credit cards as well as debit cards.  You can also choose to direct funds to help out animals that were abandoned and rescued as a result of the storm.
  • The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFCC) is collecting donations for their clinics impacted by the hurricane. They have a page dedicated here: NAFC Clinics.
  • Direct Relief is partnering with the NAFCC to provide access to life-saving medicine. More can be found by visiting: Direct Relief.org.
  • The Red Cross: Direct link goes to Harvey victims. You can donate any amount using PayPal or all major credit cards. Also, your donation can go to Irma victims as well as Disaster Relief. 
  • Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund: This is a local Texas organization that will donate to the greater Houston area. Right now, they are only accepting major credit cards.

Florida and the Caribbean (Hurricane Irma)

  • The Miami Foundation: A greater Miami organization that will donate to a number of funds. Giving information redirects you to another web site where you will be asked to select a designation, and payment is via all major credit cards.

  • United Way of Broward County: Direct link to the United Way and the payment details are simplified. All major credit cards are accepted.
  • ASPCA Responds to Irma: For animal lovers, which is all of us, right? Direct link to simplified payments make it easy to gift. You can also set up a recurring monthly payment.
  • Charity Navigator: Offering over thousands of donation sites, including the Mexico earthquake and Caribbean relief, this is the best web site for those who want to donate to a variety of organizations.
  • GoFund Me: Direct Impact Fund has partnered with GoFund Me for Irma victims in the Caribbean. This is not an exhaustive list, but it is a start. For BVI, Richard Branson has setup a page here.
