Looking for a great place to take those fall portraits? Do not forget to make a special fall getaway trip to the Fruitlands museum in Harvard, Ma.
The Fruitlands museum has some of the most spectacular views of both Mt. Wachusett and Mt. Monadnock, in addition to classic New England red barns and stone walls. Pro tip: Pack a lunch, grab some wine and sit alongside the beautiful landscape and take it all in.
Dogs are allowed as long as you keep them on leash. The grounds are open year-round, and every time I go, there is always a photographer taking photos and setting up shoots. During the summer, they have events that bring about more people, and the food trucks that line the grounds are of the fried-dough, soft-pretzel, hot dog and hamburger variety.
But the best time to come in my opinion is the Fall. If you have more time to plan, please call the museum in advance for more information on tours and afternoon events.
