Book Review: “Big Little Lies”

I tend to be a two-fisted and sometimes three-fisted reader, but this weekend it’s all about finishing one book, and that book is “Big Little Lies” by Liane Moriarty.

This is the third book I have read from Moriarty and I look forward to the same themes: mid-life crisis, relatonships in turmoil, something mysterious happens, an ending that seems to fit.

One of my resolutions in 2017, yes, I’m still trying to keep them (!), is to read a book a week and to really read the book so much so that I can have a conversation with someone about the book: what I liked, didn’t like and what the basic premise was. I know it’s hard in this day of 5 min news – the headline told me everything I needed to know (!) – and in the era of “fake news’, who can trust what they read on the internet?

In any case, whatever you decide to read this weekend, I hope it keeps you up at night in the hopes of finishing it to the end, and I hope it is something you enjoy and talk about with someone on Monday morning.

Happy reading!
